The Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) is a professional scientific society, made up of soil scientists, educators, and consultants focused on promoting soil science, including enhancing soils topics in schools. Webinar for Educators- Soils: Foundation for Life
We recently held a free webinar Soils: Foundation for Life that dug into the basics of soil! The webinar has been recorded and posted with many valuable resources - including the accompanying powerpoint that can be downloaded and adapted for your classroom. Learn what soil is, how it forms, and how it affects our lives every day through hands-on activities for the classroom. The Soil Science Society of America coordinated with the Global Soil Partnership and other organizations around the world to celebrate the 2015 International Year of Soils to raise awareness and promote the sustainability of our limited soil resources. During the International Year of Soils, SSSA had monthly themes that reflect the diverse value of soils to our natural environment and society.
